Job summary

Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission is seeking a Route Scheduler to develop and maintain transit routes using scheduling software. The role involves handling Head Start routes, field trips, and daily schedules, ensuring timely service consistent with enrollment criteria.

The position requires knowledge of Fresno streets and routing software, strong communication, and the ability to work non-traditional hours. A California driver’s license and reliable transportation are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years in route scheduling, transportation, logistics, or related field.
• 2+ years of computer software experience; routing/dispatch software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, disseminate and record information for transportation scheduling.
• Use routing software to place referrals on the most efficient route.
• Monitor route placements for timing and efficiency.
• Coordinate route planning with supervisors.
• Schedule daily routes and review with supervisors.
• Cross-train staff on routing software and scheduling.
• Maintain professional communication with clients.
• Travel for agency business as needed.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality.
• Work evenings and weekends as required.
