Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Railway Engineer to support planning and design for transit, industrial, freight, and passenger rail projects. You will work with the Transit and Rail team to deliver high-impact programs while growing your career with mentorship within a multinational engineering firm.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, design development from concept to bid, and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
PE license is required or ability to be licensed in other states.
Minimum of 5 years' railway engineering and design experience.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering design tasks under supervision, including drawings and reports.
Develop design through sketches, 3D models, and diagrams.
Prepare and revise design package documentation (plans, profiles, grading).
Collaborate to manage scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
Prepare designs from Concept Level to Issued for Bid with estimates and specs.
Participate in client, contractor, agency, and governing entity meetings.
Coordinate activities between disciplines and departments.
Prepare feasibility studies including environmental impact analyses.
