Job summary

Creighton Manning Engineering, LLP is seeking a Transit Project Lead (Engineer or Planner) to manage public transportation planning and infrastructure projects across New York State. The role emphasizes leading bus, BRT, station, facility, and multi-modal initiatives while growing client relationships and supporting business development.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in transit planning or related engineering, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and licenses such as P.E. or AICP.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in transit planning or transportation engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning, or related field.
• P.E. or AICP or equivalent transit leadership preferred.
• Experience with public transportation projects, project delivery, client communication, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Willingness to travel ~25% and attend meetings outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead bus-focused transit planning, transportation engineering, and multi-modal infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate bus operations, service efficiency, network redesign options, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Support design of bus stops, stations, maintenance yards, facilities, and related transit infrastructure.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, client communication, and financial performance.
• Prepare reports, concept plans, graphics, meeting materials, and proposal support.
