Bowery Residents' Committee is seeking an Outreach Specialist to perform field-based outreach with individuals experiencing chronic homelessness in NYC’s transit system. You will connect clients to housing, medical, and behavioral health services while documenting interactions and referrals.

This role emphasizes trauma-informed care and Housing First principles. The position offers full-time hours, shift variety (day/evening/overnight), and opportunities for growth, supervision, and training in

• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build trust and work effectively in the field.
• Experience in outreach, social services, or behavioral health is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct street-based outreach in transit locations.
• Connect clients to housing, medical, mental health, and substance use services.
• Complete brief assessments, provide escorts, and make referrals.
• Document outreach activity and client interactions.
• Work primarily at high-need areas, including end-of-line stations.
• Collaborate with partner agencies and outreach teams.
