Job summary

BRC seeks an Outreach Specialist for Transit Homeless Outreach in New York. You will engage directly with individuals experiencing homelessness, provide hands-on support, and guide them toward housing and stability through field-based work.

Responsibilities include outreach in transit locations, connecting clients to housing and health services, and documenting interactions. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with strong communication and field skills.

• Ability to work effectively in the field and in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct street-based outreach in transit locations.
• Connect clients to housing, medical and behavioral health services.
• Complete brief assessments, provide escorts, and referrals.
• Document outreach activity and client interactions.
• Work primarily in high-need transit areas and coordinate with partner agencies.
• Collaborate with outreach teams to ensure continuity of care.
