Job summary

BRC is seeking an Outreach Specialist for the Transit Homeless Outreach program in New York City. This field-based role engages individuals experiencing homelessness, providing hands-on support and connections to housing and services.

The position emphasizes outreach in transit locations, collaboration with partner agencies, and growth opportunities within a mission-driven team. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with strong communication and documentation skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compassionate, street-based outreach in transit locations.

• Complete brief assessments, provide escorts, and make referrals.
• Document outreach activity and client interactions.
• Work primarily at high-need areas, including end-of-line stations.
• Collaborate with partner agencies and outreach teams.
