Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Class B North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement.
• Six (6) months of verifiable experience operating a similar or larger commercial vehicle.
• Ability to drive a transit bus in urban traffic under time constraints.
• Flexibility to work various schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate the bus on assigned routes and schedules to provide safe, timely transportation.
• Perform pre-departure inspections and report defects to ensure safe operations.
• Maintain trip records including fare collections, mileage, and vehicle conditions.
• Assist passengers boarding/alighting, including wheelchair users, securing mobility devices as needed.
• Collect fares, issue tickets, and manage transfers for smooth journeys.
• Announce bus stops and provide basic schedule information to passengers.
