Job summary

The City of Peoria, AZ, is seeking a friendly Dial-A-Ride driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for community members, including seniors and disabled riders. This 30-hour-per-week role requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of driving experience, and a valid Arizona Class C Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement.

You will operate vehicles, assist passengers, and collect fares, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant driving/transportation experience.
• Valid Arizona Class C Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and efficient vehicle operations for the purpose of transporting passengers.
• Assist passengers, including seniors and disabled, in boarding and exiting the vehicle as necessary.
• Secure mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) in the vehicle.
• Provide general information to the public regarding Dial-A-Ride services.
• Logs all stops on daily route manifest, completes incident and accident reports, daily vehicle inspection reports and reports vehicle malfunctions.
• Complete company forms, maintain accurate trip data and use vehicle equipment such as onboard radio and computer system.
• Complete daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip vehicle inspections, interior cleaning and vehicle refueling.
• Collect and records pre-established transit fares.

• Education: High school graduation or equivalency.
• Experience: 1-2 years experience.
• Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.

• Work requires moderate physical exertion.

• Valid Arizona Class “C” Driver’s License (with Passenger Endorsement) required upon hire.
