Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking friendly, safety-minded Dial-A-Ride drivers to keep our community moving. This 30-hour-per-week position delivers reliable transportation and great service to residents, with duties including safe vehicle operations and assisting riders with boarding and mobility devices.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of experience, and a valid Arizona Class C license with passenger endorsement.

Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalency.
  • 1–2 years experience.
  • Valid Arizona Class “C” Driver’s License (with Passenger Endorsement) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and efficient vehicle operations for transporting passengers.
  • Assist passengers, including seniors and disabled riders, in boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Secure mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) in the vehicle.
  • Provide general information to the public regarding Dial-A-Ride services.
  • Log all stops on daily route manifest and complete incident/accident reports and vehicle checks.
  • Complete daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections and fuel the vehicle.

Logs all stops on daily route manifest, completes incident and accident reports, daily vehicle inspection reports and reports vehicle malfunctions.
