Job summary

City of Peoria, AZ is seeking friendly Dial-A-Ride drivers to provide safe and reliable transportation for seniors and disabled riders. This 30-hour-per-week position emphasizes safety-minded service and passenger assistance throughout daily operations.

You will operate vehicles, assist passengers, secure mobility devices, collect fares, and complete routine inspections while delivering quality public transit.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalency.
• Experience: 1-2 years experience.
• Moderate previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and efficient vehicle operations for the purpose of transporting passengers.
• Assists passengers, including seniors and disabled, in boarding and exiting the vehicle as necessary.
• Secure mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) in the vehicle.
• Provide general information to the public regarding Dial-A-Ride services.
• Logs all stops on daily route manifest, completes incident and accident reports, daily vehicle inspection reports and reports vehicle malfunctions.
• Complete company forms, maintain accurate trip data and use vehicle equipment such as onboard radio and computer system.
• Complete daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip vehicle inspections, interior cleaning and vehicle refueling.
• Collect and records pre-established transit fares.
