Job summary

Skagit Transit is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to coordinate fixed route and paratransit operations, oversee dispatching, and supervise staff to ensure reliable service. The role involves coordinating with Maintenance, handling incidents, and supporting scheduling and rider data reporting.

The position requires 2-year degree and CDL-B, with at least three years of transit experience; a strong focus on safety, budgeting, and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in management, public administration or related field.
• Training in business administration, supervisor, or related field.
• Three years of increasingly responsible public transit experience.
• Valid Washington State CDL Class B license.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign and monitor operators and equipment on an assigned shift and ensure all routes are covered.
• Receive and respond to reports/requests for operator replacement, vehicle changes, and repairs.
• Inform other departments promptly about accidents, delays, or equipment failures affecting service.
• Coordinate vehicle scheduling with Maintenance for efficient vehicle utilization.
• Assist in restoring and maintaining service and schedule when interrupted.
• Supervise and evaluate performance of assigned personnel.
• Participate in developing operating procedures within budget and department policies.
• Assist in route studies and data collection for ridership and fares.
