Job summary

First Student, Inc. in Cincinnati is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day bus operations, coordinate maintenance and fueling, and support the Location Manager as needed.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift with on-call weekends three times a year. Salary ranges from $50,000 to $55,000 per year, depending on experience. You will lead safety-focused teams and ensure compliance with DOT regulations in a fast-paced transport environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in transportation industry.
• Good supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer skills
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes a safe work environment at all times
• Insures drivers have the daily paperwork necessary to complete their routes.
• Coordinates field trips by the assignment of personnel and vehicles.
• Assists drivers with establishing route descriptions under Location Manager direction.
• Insures that drivers follow through with scheduled fueling and mechanical work
• Observes safety practices of personnel and takes corrective action when necessary.
• Assists Location Manager during training sessions and kick off meetings.
• Attends disciplinary meetings with location manager
• May interact with school officials on routine matters at smaller bus locations.
• May drive bus on occasion if necessary.
• Assists dispatcher when necessary.
• May manage small locations under the overall direction of the Location Manager
• Insures that routes meet state, local, and vendor requirements.
• Reviews time sheets prior to submission to payroll.
