First Student is hiring an Operations Supervisor in Chattanooga, TN. In this role you will supervise day-to-day operations of buses, schedule maintenance and fueling, and support drivers and location staff.

The position emphasizes safety, paperwork accuracy, and coordination of field trips with the Location Manager. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in transportation with strong supervisory, communication, and organizational skills, plus familiarity with DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in transportation industry or similar supervisory role.
• Proven supervisory and leadership abilities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure daily safety standards.
• Ensure drivers have required daily paperwork and that charter paperwork is submitted to payroll.
• Coordinate field trips by assigning personnel and vehicles; assist drivers with route descriptions.
• Oversee fueling and maintenance scheduling; monitor safety practices and take corrective action.
