Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking an Assistant General Manager to provide leadership and direction to assigned operating personnel and to ensure delivery of the division business plan in the fast-paced transit environment.

The role oversees scheduling, staffing decisions, policy implementation, budget management, and labor relations, with responsibility to meet client and corporate expectations and engage with the community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience within passenger transportation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of transit laws, ordinances, and regulatory requirements.
• Thorough understanding of transit system functions and workflows.
• Experience navigating labor relations with unions and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Shares accountability for scheduling, performance evaluations, and staffing decisions for the facility's management team.
• Provides strategic leadership, planning, and direction to all operations personnel.
• Develops and implements operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Builds relationships within the community and represents the organization professionally.
• Ensures performance indicators meet client and corporate expectations.
• Oversees division goals, budgets, and labor relations; trains and mentors successors.
