Job summary

Transdev is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily transportation operations in Vallejo, CA, supporting Solano County Transit. You will supervise operators, coordinate dispatch, work with maintenance, and manage performance and safety initiatives.

The role requires a CDL, supervisory experience, and strong communication. Hiring decisions and budget development are part of the duties, with travel around 10% and a focus on compliant, efficient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class B CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements or ability to obtain one.
• 3+ years of transit supervisory experience.
• Thorough knowledge of transit regulations and operations.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and database programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of operators and dispatch personnel.
• Oversee operator scheduling; monitor operations and service delivery.
• Collaborate with maintenance to meet service requirements.
• Track, analyze performance; resolve interdepartmental issues and grievances.
• Make hiring decisions for authorized roles; evaluate staff performance.
• Assist in accident/incident investigations and safety training.
• Coordinate with safety and training to meet safety goals.
• Develop the operations department budget.
• May operate a vehicle in revenue service when needed.
• Travel 10% outside the immediate area.
