Job summary

Transdev Vallejo is hiring a Safety Trainer to ensure all routes are completed in compliance with safety procedures and company policies. You will train student operators, verify route coverage, and maintain training records to ensure safety across operations.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in transportation or logistics, 2–4 years of supervisory experience, a valid CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsements, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years' transportation or logistics experience.
• 2-4 years supervisory experience.
• Valid CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsements.
• Must pass third party tester certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Train new student operators in safe and efficient handling of vehicles and equipment to meet customer standards.
• Ensure trainees are trained on all routes and monitor progress to ensure compliance with training policies.
• Supervise students directly and ensure Operator Development Program (ODP) is delivered with updates as needed.
• Perform equipment familiarization, refresher, and remediation training; assist with reviews of Cleaver Device events and counseling of operators.
• Provide employees with expert information on operation of equipment; assist with ride checks as needed.
• Recommend safer methods, procedures, and preventative measures; may cross-train to investigate accidents and incidents.
