Job summary

The Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority is seeking a Full-Time Mechanic to service, diagnose, and repair fleet vehicles in our Adams County shop. You will perform preventative maintenance, road calls, and on-site repairs while coordinating with management to prioritize workloads.

Based in Gettysburg, PA, the role requires flexibility for shifts, occasional overnight travel, and a willingness to train in York. A strong safety record and valid CDL/ASE-related certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• One to three years of full time experience as a maintenance technician diagnosing malfunctions and repairing medium-duty vehicles.
• Knowledge of equipment and specialized tools.
• Knowledge of medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicle preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of equipment repair cost estimation.
• Ability to diagnose and repair medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles; problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for daily assignments by reviewing work orders and may work variable shifts.
• Complies with safety policies and regulations and uses appropriate PPE.
• Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on fleet vehicles.
• Completes road calls and minor on-site repairs; coordinates towing if needed.
• Maintains written records and reports timely and accurately.
