Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Special Inspector to join the Security division. The role focuses on enforcing fare payments, investigating vandalism, and coordinating with other agencies to protect assets across NYC Transit facilities.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience as an investigator, with one year in the field.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Study and analyze incident data related to vandalism.
• Conduct site investigations and assist with tactical plans.
• Patrol train yards, lay-up areas and depots.
• Operate electronic devices to enforce fare policies and issue notices.
• Inspect receipts for payment compliance on NYCT vehicles.
• Testify at hearings and coordinate with NYPD and other departments.
• Retrieve and review video/video surveillance to support investigations.
