Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of intermittent Relief Transit Equipment Dispatcher experience at King County Metro.
• Knowledge of coach types and sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• Strong understanding of vehicle inspections and maintenance scheduling.
• Safe driving skills and ability to obtain Class B CDL.
• Basic computer skills to enter and extract information from automated systems.
• Math and problem-solving skills for mileage-based calculations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Able to communicate professionally with diverse staff and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily coach assignments and equipment statuses using dispatch tools.
• Make strategic decisions about equipment placement and route pairing.
• Monitor fleet usage and maintain mileage records for maintenance planning.
• Ensure vehicles are prepared for service and meet readiness standards.
• Coordinate equipment for maintenance, cleaning, and repairs.
• Maintain awareness of coach locations with frequent inventory checks.
• Support operators during sign-out and resolve issues delaying departures.
• Assist with fleet movements between bases and keep an organized yard.
• Use multiple software applications to record, retrieve, and update dispatch data.
• Provide professional support to operators and maintenance teams.
