Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transit Engineer to contribute to rail design projects in the New York area. You will work under a Project Manager, oversee EITs and junior engineers, and prepare detailed designs for rail systems from feasibility through construction.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree, a PE license, and hands-on experience with Microstation, OpenRail Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D, plus strong communication and project-management abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; PE license recognized by licensing board.
• Hands-on experience with Microstation, OpenRail Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent oral and written communication and project management skills.
• Commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a technical role, under the direction of a Project Manager
• Oversee the work of EITs and Junior Project Engineers
• Prepare detailed engineering designs for rail projects
• Take responsibility for project involvement, ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase
• Perform other duties as needed
