Job summary

TYLin is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in low-voltage, medium-voltage, and lighting systems for transportation facilities to support design and delivery of Rail + Transit projects across the Mid-Atlantic. You will collaborate with architects and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure reliable, energy-efficient electrical systems that meet codes and client standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience designing building electrical systems for transportation, transit, aviation, institutional, commercial, or other large public infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience designing LV & MV distribution, interior/exterior lighting, emergency power, grounding/bonding.
Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE standards, energy codes, and lighting standards.
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, AGi32, Visual Lighting, ETAP/SKM/EasyPower or similar tools.
Experience supporting transit agencies such as WMATA, MDOT MTA, VRE, Amtrak, or similar clients is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for transit facilities and related transportation infrastructure.
Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, and systems engineering teams.
Develop technical specifications, reports, construction drawings, and design docs.
Support construction activities through RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and issue resolution.
Assist in technical proposals, client meetings, and mentoring junior staff.
