Job summary

TYLin seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in LV, MV and lighting for transportation facilities to support design and delivery of Rail + Transit projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Join a multidisciplinary Transportation practice delivering stations, maintenance facilities, terminals, and related infrastructure. You will design reliable, energy-efficient systems coordinating with architects, civil, and mechanical teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience designing building electrical systems for transportation, transit, aviation, institutional, commercial, or other large public infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience designing: Low-voltage electrical distribution, Medium-voltage electrical systems, Interior and exterior lighting systems, Emergency power systems, Grounding and bonding.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for transit stations, maintenance facilities, operations centers, passenger buildings, parking structures, and other transportation facilities.
Prepare designs for LV power distribution, MV electrical distribution, normal and emergency power, lighting and lighting controls, and electrical rooms/layouts.
Coordinate with architecture, structural, mechanical, civil, and systems engineering teams; participate in design reviews and QA/QC.
Support construction activities through RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and technical issue resolution.
Coordinate with utility companies, clients, contractors, and public agencies throughout project delivery.
Mentor junior designers and CAD/BIM staff as project experience grows.
