Job summary

MTM Transit, in partnership with CapMetro, is hiring full-time drivers to join our team in Austin, Texas. Start your new career with Friday training classes beginning every Monday.

You will provide safe transportation, demonstrate excellent customer service, assist with passenger loading, and ensure on-time pickups. Requires high school diploma, 21+, valid TX license, pass DOT, background check; competitive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid training, holidays, PTO and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a continuously valid US driver’s license for 3 years.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• No DUI or DWI convictions.
• No more than 1 suspension, moving violation, or citation within the last 3 years – no more than 2 within past 5 years.
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
• Must pass criminal background check investigation including a TX DPS MVR.
• Valid authorization to work in the United States.
• Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years work history.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle.
• Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols.
• Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer.
• Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required.
• Complete paperwork as required.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.
