Job summary

RATP Dev USA is seeking experienced transit mechanics to perform maintenance on heavy equipment for our Durham, NC operations. Candidates must interpret schematics, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, and operate within a CMMS to document work and parts usage.

A safety-first mindset, strong communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential. Experience with Cummins Insite, Volvo/Mac diagnostic tools, and a technical degree or ASE certifications are highly

Qualifications

• Must have a safety-first attitude.
• Must operate within a CMMS to create and complete work orders and record parts used and time spent.
• Able to read and interpret schematics.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications and diagnostic software.
• Strong communication and professionalism.
• Able to work with limited supervision and manage time effectively.
• Willing to work in a 24/7 environment.
• Five years of progressive heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
• ASE Transit/Heavy Vehicle Certification required for A and B Techs.
• Two years technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED and NC driver’s license with CDL endorsement required.
• Ability to obtain CDL permit if not currently held.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment (Cummins Insite, Volvo/Mac) is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate within a CMMS to create and close work orders.
• Read and interpret schematics for repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on heavy equipment.
• Maintain and repair transit vehicles with a focus on safety and reliability.
• Communicate findings clearly to non-technical staff.
• Demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
• Adapt to a 24/7 work environment.
