Job summary

Transdev North America in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment. You will ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of our fleet while supporting a team of technicians.

The role requires 3–5 years as a Diesel Mechanic, ASE certifications, and a valid driver’s license with three years of driving experience. DOT drug testing may apply; a comprehensive tool set is expected.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Valid driver's license with 3 years of driving experience.
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
• Mechanic’s Tool Set.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
