Job summary

Transit Authority Of Lexington-Faye in Lexington, KY is seeking an Entry Level Bus Operator to safely operate transit vehicles and serve riders with a high standard of customer service.

Starting wage is $23.70 per hour; full-time, year-round work with benefits. A High School diploma is required, you must be 21+, and you may need a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or complete training. DOT physical and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow safety rules and procedures to protect customers and staff.
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication and customer service.
• Able to work as part of a team and adapt to changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate transit vehicle safely and in compliance with laws and policies.
• Assist passengers boarding, riding, and alighting, including ADA support as needed.
• Provide schedule, route, fare information and respond to rider inquiries.
• Use onboard technology and report hazards or incidents to supervisors.
• Complete reports and vehicle checks as required.
