Job summary

Windstar Lines is seeking a skilled Transit Bus Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repair for our shuttle fleet in Boise, Idaho. The role focuses on keeping buses safe, reliable, and DOT compliant.

You’ll oversee inspections, document maintenance, troubleshoot diesel, electrical, and engine systems, and manage parts inventory. A CDL with passenger endorsement is preferred and pre-employment drug testing is required.

Qualifications

  • CDL with passenger endorsement preferred (required for road testing vehicles).
  • 2+ years of mechanical experience on diesel, transit, or motorcoach vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing (DOT compliant).
  • Basic computer literacy (maintenance tracking software, spreadsheets, email).

Job description

Windstar Lines is seeking a skilled and organized Transit Bus Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repair for our transit shuttle fleet serving a major long-term project in Boise, Idaho.

This position will perform all the day-to-day maintenance activities for transit-style and motorcoach vehicles, ensuring the fleet remains safe, reliable, and compliant with DOT standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all vehicles meet DOT safety standards and company maintenance requirements
