The City of Deerfield Beach is seeking a bus operator to transport participants to the Center for Active Aging, medical appointments, social service agencies, parks and recreation programs and special events. You will operate a 12-25 passenger accessible bus and assist riders, including those with wheelchairs and walkers.

Under supervision, you will follow established procedures, complete routing and mileage reports, perform daily bus inspections, and help staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
• Three (3) years of public transportation experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state CDL Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement and an acceptable driving history.
• Chauffer’s License required.
• CPR/First Aid Certifications (or must obtain within 6-month probationary period and remain valid throughout employment).

Responsabilités

• Transports participants to and from the Center for Active Aging, to medically related appointments, social service agencies, special events, and other designated destinations.
• Transports participants to and from City-wide special events and parks and recreation programs.
• Operate various transportation vehicles, including 12-25 passenger accessible buses and a large activity bus.
• Assists participants with entering and exiting the bus, and with wheelchairs and walkers.
• Follows established city rules and regulations related to the operation use of buses.
• Provides reports on routing, passengers, maintenance, and mileage.
• Cleans interior and exterior of vehicles daily.
• Inspects bus daily for any damages.
• Checks bus engine for issues.
• Assists staff members as requested.
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
