Job summary

City of Coconut Creek is seeking an entry-level bus operator in the Public Works Transportation Division. You will drive, fuel, and maintain buses, perform inspections, and assist passengers, including loading wheelchairs, under close supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a Florida Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, and at least three years of licensed driving history plus one year of bus transportation experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; 1 year bus transportation experience.
• Must have 3+ years licensed driving history; learner’s permit time does not count.
• Florida Class B CDL with passenger endorsement; no citations in 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Drives, maintains, and fuels buses and sedans/SUVs.
• Operates buses according to schedule; uses radio/equipment.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections; basic vehicle maintenance.
