Job summary

Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas invites applications for a Fellowship in Transfusion Medicine. This position focuses on providing transfusion medicine services and teaching residents within BAMC's 425-bed academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited US/Canadian institution; ECFMG for foreign grads.
• Current, active, unrestricted medical license.
• Completion of accredited residency training in transfusion medicine or a related specialty.
• At least one year of supervised clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide transfusion medicine services
• Teach physician residents
• Oversight of blood donations and creation of FDA-approved blood products
• Provide expert consultation and consult with clinicians concerning complex pathological diagnoses
• Participate in quality improvement activities of the laboratory
• Perform other duties as assigned
