Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks an academic transfusion medicine physician to join the Division of Laboratory and Genomic Medicine as Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banks at UC San Diego Health’s La Jolla-Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, and CALM.

The appointment includes clinical leadership, teaching of students, residents and fellows, and opportunities for translational research collaboration.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD or equivalent.
• California medical license or eligibility.
• ABPath board certification in CP or AP/CP and subspecialty in transfusion medicine, or eligible.
• Alternative ABMS-certified primary specialty board with transfusion medicine subspecialty eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive transfusion medicine clinical services and leadership.
• Serve as Associate Director of Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banks.
• Teach medical students, residents and fellows and engage in translational research.

Education

MD or MD/PhD

California medical license or eligible

ABPath board certification (CP or AP/CP) with subspecialty in transfusion medicine

ABMS-approved primary specialty board certification with transfusion medicine subspecialty eligibility
