Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in transfusion service.
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Certification by ASCP or equivalent medical technologist knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates expert technical and clinical knowledge in transfusion service and blood bank by recognizing patient care and employee performance quality issues and initiating performance improvement processes.
• Interacts with other healthcare workers to provide information and identify, develop, implement, assess, and report strategies that result in improved departmental quality.
• Assists with maintaining department regulatory accreditation.
• Assists in developing and writing standard operating procedures related to quality.
• Provides education and training in quality system theory and application.
• Gathers, analyzes, and reports data for transfusion service and blood bank performance measures.
