Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Transformer Repair Technician for the 1st shift in Waukesha, WI. You will diagnose transformer failures, perform tear-downs, repairs, and inspections to restore function and quality. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical work plus collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related experience. Overtime may be required; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience diagnosing, repairing, assembling, or troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical equipment.
Eaton will not sponsor immigration for this position; no CPT/OPT/STEM OPT/H-1B supported.
No relocation is offered; candidate must reside within 50 miles of Waukesha, WI facility.

Responsibilities

Diagnose transformer failures and root causes; determine corrective actions.
Perform hands-on troubleshooting, tear-down, inspection, and repair on transformers from production or field.
Disassemble and document components to assess repairability and disposition.
Conduct mechanical and electrical testing to validate repair effectiveness.
Operate and maintain teardown processes using cranes, lifting devices, and hand tools.
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Production, and Service teams to resolve issues.
