Job summary

Intermountain Electronics in Price, Utah, is seeking a Transformer Design Engineer to take transformer projects from customer requirements and technical design through manufacturing, testing, and field support. You will combine electrical engineering expertise with hands-on problem solving, collaborating with customers and production teams to deliver reliable, high-quality transformer solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field with hands-on experience (480V+).
• Ability to develop transformer designs, wiring configurations, and troubleshooting solutions.
• Strong communication with customers, procurement, and production teams.
• Experience reading electrical diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer plans and codes to establish transformer project requirements.
• Prepare accurate transformer quotations and pricing for IE applications and customers.
• Develop complete electrical designs and manufacturing documentation for production.
• Translate handwritten design information into AutoCAD drawings.
• Coordinate fabrication with internal teams and vendors; develop BOMs and procurement notes.
• Support manufacturing and field service with technical guidance and NCR handling.
