Job summary

California State University, Fullerton invites applications for the Transfer and Black Student Success Advisor (Student Services Professional II) to support prospective teachers, with a focus on underrepresented students.

Under the Director of Advising and Student Success, you will coordinate recruitment and advisement activities with regional community colleges, maintain the program database, and report on outcomes while promoting inclusive education across the College of Education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; two years of professional experience in student services or related field.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Provides advisement and support to prospective students aiming to become teachers in California.
• Maintains regular contact with counselors, advisors, and faculty at regional community colleges and on campus.
• Coordinates recruitment and advisement activities at regional community college campuses.
• Prepares quarterly progress and summary reports on recruitment and student success.
• Supports diversification of teacher preparation programs and related initiatives.
