Job summary

California State University, Fullerton is seeking a Transfer and Black Student Success Advisor (Student Services Professional II) in Fullerton. The role focuses on advising prospective teachers and promoting inclusive education across CSU programs.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and experience in student services, with a background check and a strong commitment to equity and inclusion within a large public university.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field.
• Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field.
• A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.
• A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily for employment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Provides advisement and support to prospective students interested in becoming teachers in California, focusing on underrepresented student populations.
• Coordinates scheduling of recruitment and advisement activities at regional community college campuses and on campus.
• Maintains a database of potential future teachers and develops programming to support students.
• Prepares quarterly progress and summary reports of student recruitment and success activities.
