Reworld is hiring a general laborer at a municipal solid waste transfer station. You will perform safety-focused duties, direct site traffic, and assist with inspections, maintenance, and customer service.

Shift work is rotating across 8-10 hour days, five days per week, including weekends. Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, operating checks, and helping residents unload items while maintaining a clean, safe site.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred; GED program available.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts.
• Experience at OSHA-regulated sites preferred.
• Good customer service skills to meet/exceed expectations.
• Must be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends.

Responsabilités

• Ensure safety compliance and PPE usage for customers and employees.
• Instruct customers on proper disposal location on tipping floor.
• Perform inspections per state-mandated Waste Ban Regulations.
• Direct traffic within the site for residents and commercial vehicles.

About the role

We seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a municipal solid waste transfer station. The individual fulfilling this role must be flexible to work shifts as assigned, handle special projects assigned by a supervisor, and any other related duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Provide instructions to the customer for the proper location of disposal on the tipping floor
• Perform inspections effectively and accurately in accordance with state-mandated Waste Ban Regulations.
• Direct traffic within the site for residents and commercial vehicles
• Perform general site maintenance including, but not limited to yard work, track maintenance, janitorial work, and minor repairs
• Maintain effective equipment checks (pre and post-operations)
• Maintain various items at the transfer station for continual operation
• Provide customer service to residents that are unloading items from vehicles.
• Perform facility inspection checks as assigned by a Supervisor.
• Follow and enforce all required Reworld safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred; Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts
• Experience working at sites regulated by OSHA preferred
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations
• Must be flexible to work different shifts, including weekends.
• Acts in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers.

Physical Demands of the Role

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb ladders
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator and other PPE
• Consistently work in all weather conditions

Shift Work

Rotating days – start time is between 6:30am to 8:30am 8-10 hour shifts, 5 days in a week, could be including weekends.

Pay Transparency

The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 20.58 - 27.36 USD per hour
