Job summary

WM is a leading environmental solutions provider based in North America. This on-site role oversees day-to-day transfer station operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while managing a team of staff and contractors.

The position covers supervising work assignments, inspections, maintenance coordination, quality control, and reporting to senior management. Strong emphasis on safety, productivity, and appropriate payroll processing is required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and four years of relevant experience.
• Four years of prior work experience in addition to education requirement.
• Preferred: storm water compliance and environmental regulatory programs; leading teams of 15+; unionized workforce.

Responsibilities

• Schedules work assignments.
• Conducts site inspections and coordinates maintenance of site equipment.
• Ensures smooth operation of transfer station per contract (gatehouse, sorting, loading).
• Reviews work for quality and timeliness, enforces policies and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment per DEP permit and OSHA standards.
• Interfaces with employees, supervisors, vendors, customers and regulators.
• Leads development and monitoring of processes to improve safety and productivity.
• Conducts safety/compliance meetings and investigations, with retraining as needed.
• Reconciles facility revenue and processes payroll.
• Orders supplies and submits daily/weekly/monthly reports to senior management.
• Oversees department staffing, coaching, training, performance evaluations; participates in promotions and compensation decisions.
