Job summary

Waste Pro USA is seeking an Transfer Station Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy equipment at a transfer station. The role includes loading, spreading, covering, and compacting waste while maintaining a clean, organized site.

Responsibilities include adhering to safety policies, reporting malfunctions, and participating in required training. OSHA-regulated site experience is valued, with prior heavy equipment operation preferred.

Job description

The Transfer Station Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a transfer station for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, loading and compacting waste.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment both inside and outside the facility
• Daily plant responsibility to include proper use of lighting, dust control and ventilation systems
• Ensure that commodities are loaded, transported and stored in an efficient and timely manner
• Observe and report any potential malfunctions or disruptions of plant activities
• Observe and report sub-standard service level of contracted manpower and equipment
• Must maintain current applicable licenses with regard to operating equipment
• Maintain and operate designated equipment used in the Transfer Station
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
• Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Equipment operator must have a clear understanding of the proper procedures for running the equipment and all aspects of the transfer station.
• Knowledge of the flow of work and ability to anticipate tasks that need to occur.
• Ability to follow directions and work as a team or independently
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• One year prior related experience in heavy equipment operation preferred.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Normal setting for this job is Industrial process plant with heavy production equipment, rolling stock and inventory.

• May also work in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and weather variations including heat, cold, snow, rain, wind; noise and vibrations, fumes, odors and dust
