Job summary

The Franklin County Auditor’s Office invites applications for a Transfer & Conveyance Representative to join the Real Estate team. This full-time, hybrid-eligible role handles deed processing, data entry, fee calculations, and customer support to ensure accurate, compliant conveyance records.

Successful candidates will have an associate degree and at least one year of related experience; notary preferred and valid Ohio driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required or equivalent.
• One year or more of related experience or training.
• Notary Public preferred. Must possess and maintain valid Ohio driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Processes deeds and legal instruments; performs data entry of conveyances using internal systems (e.g., atENT, Simplifile).
• Verifies ownership, legal descriptions, parcel numbers, and mailing addresses; calculates conveyance fees and exemption status.
• Reviews and interprets legal documents to ensure compliance with the ORC, County transfer policies, and Auditor’s Office procedures; ensures accuracy and completeness.
• Provides information to and answers questions from the public, title companies, attorneys, and taxpayers; handles walk-in, phone, and email inquiries.
• Accepts payments; balances cash register receipts and reconciles daily pay-ins; tracks conveyance numbers, fees, and exemptions; maintains records.
• Receives and organizes mail; assists with filing for Recorder’s Office; performs document imaging and clerical duties.
• Performs general office tasks (orders supplies, restocks, and other routine duties).
