Job summary

Hampton University in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks an Admissions Transfer Coordinator to provide excellent service to prospective transfer students and families as they transition to HU. The role leads transfer recruitment, articulation coordination, and NCAA APR/GSR data reporting, while planning events and building partnerships with colleges and athletic programs.

The position requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Interest in working with prospective college students, transfer students and families.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for transfer recruitment and coordinating efforts.
• Coordinate transfer articulation issues and assist in planning admissions reviews for student-athletes.
• Interpret and update encoding for Degree Audit and Banner systems to ensure accuracy.
• Manage recruitment territory and plan transfer-specific events on and off campus.
• Develop and maintain records of transfer pathways, agreements, and renewals.
• Prepare detailed admission reports for coaches, sport supervisors, Athletics Compliance, and relevant staff.
• Meet with prospective student-athletes and families during official recruiting visits as requested.
• Prepare unofficial evaluations of transfer student-athlete records, including dual enrolled high school students.
• Collaborate with university departments to obtain course equivalencies for domestic and international students.
• Assist with data collection/validation for NCAA APR and GSR reports.
• Represent Hampton University on committees and at conferences or special assignments.
• Some evening and weekend work will be required.
