AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a dedicated RN for a critical care/procedural role. You will conduct assessments, develop care plans, administer treatments, monitor responses, and educate patients and families.

This is a part-time, on-site position with opportunities for professional growth. Required are an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and Florida RN licensure; BLS/CPR is mandatory, with preferred experience in Cerner/EPIC EMR systems.

Job Description

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
• Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
• Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs

• Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)
• Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
• Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
• EPIC [Preferred]
