Job description

The primary purpose of this position is: to plan and conduct classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions using the lesson plans and course control documents as a guide.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Minimum degree requirement of an associate degree from CCAF or a regionally or nationally accredited post-secondary institution in the discipline or in combination with appropriate work experience in Security Forces, air base ground defense and the methods and techniques of instruction. Employee must successfully complete a pre-employment physical In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction 1712 Series ***** This is a CCAF Position*****Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes

  • 1) Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
  • 2) Supervising or administering a training program.
  • 3) Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
  • 4) Work in weapons, weapon systems, airbase ground defense, and security that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
OR EDUCATION:

Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D. with a major study in education or Business Administration (logistics/transportation). NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of instruction, instructional systems design, and test and measurement principles. 2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to include projecting voice in outdoor areas and be heard by 100 plus trainees. 3.
