Job summary

JANUS Research Group seeks a Training Support Specialist to analyze training systems, develop reports, and support large adult education programs at NAS Pensacola, FL. Local candidates preferred for on-site work and occasional travel.

The role requires 5 years of relevant experience, Navy training knowledge, and strong writing and communication skills to produce concise reports and training materials. Full-time, exempt position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience or related experience performing all aspects of training system analysis and design.
  • Active/Current, minimum “Secret” Security Clearance.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Navy training doctrine, manuals, and systems, and any subsequent guidance, and/or requirements directing curriculum development and maintenance.
  • Curriculum development software courseware development authoring tools and web-based collaboration tools - Microsoft Office M365 Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Captivate, and Moodle.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to read, interpret, organize, and synthesize source material into well-written, concise technical style reports in approved formats.
  • Experience performing all aspects of training system analysis and design, including Job Task Analysis, as well as leading a multi-disciplinary training design implementation team.

  • Provide training in structured writing, effective writing techniques, and test writing principles to course writers.
  • Coordinate and plan a variety of professional development workshops in support of CSFE mission.
  • Conduct performance analysis and training needs assessments to assess client’s situation and identify critical performance gaps.
  • Employ techniques of systems thinking, job design, and process management to prescribe proper interventions.
  • Provide facilitation support for internal and external clients.
  • Create original course and testing material by conferring with SME and researching technical publication on the information to be used and writes expository material.

Salary

Target salary range: $64,000 - $68,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Location

This position is at Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) on-board Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, FL.

Objective

Training Support Specialist will be responsible for analysis and report development to support training and manpower requirements documents and provide support for large, diverse, and complex adult education and vocational training systems. Qualified candidates should be local to Pensacola, FL or surrounding areas to be considered for this position.

Job Description

Employment Status

Full‑time (40 hours per week). Salaried. Exempt.

Qualifications

Work Environment and Travel
  • This position is at Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) on Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, FL. Qualified candidates should be local to Pensacola, FL, or surrounding areas to be considered for this position.
  • Ability to lift items and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions.
  • Travel up to 10% anticipated.
