Job summary

Magna International is seeking a Training Specialist to develop and deliver internal training programs for the Magna Exteriors team. You will design instructional materials, conduct sessions, and collaborate across departments to ensure proficiency and compliance.

The role requires 2–3 years in manufacturing or related training, a BA/BS in HR/training, and strong communication skills. On-site role with comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources/Training field is required.
  • 2–3 years experience in a manufacturing setting preferred, or six months related training experience.
  • Ability to develop and present training materials and programs.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups and to convey complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Develops internal training programs and determines instructional methods and media.
  • Conducts training sessions on standardized work practices, technical competencies, and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborates with departments to create training programs and proficiency testing.
  • Tests employees to measure progress and effectiveness of training.

Group Summary:

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets. Job Responsibilities:
  • Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies
  • Develops internal training programs and determines appropriate instructional methods, teaching aids, and media for effective transfer of knowledge and skills
  • Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as standardized work practices, technical competencies, and interpersonal skills
  • Assists in developing training initiatives
  • Collaborates with all departments for technical training programs and proficiency testing
  • Tests employees to measure progress, evaluate effectiveness, and basic skills
  • Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods
  • Provides guidance and resources for plant wide training programs
  • Upholds and promotes Nascote's 14 Lean Principles through daily activities
  • Assists Training Coordinator with sourcing and coordinating outside training resources
  • Coordinates Human Resource projects as assigned
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all employee related matters and information
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area
  • Participates in department meetings
  • Completes documentation of activities as required
  • Submits cost reductions and innovation ideas
  • Performs other tasks as assigned

2-3 years experience in a manufacturing setting, preferred Previous training experience or six month related experience, or equivalent combination of developing and presenting training programs.

Required:

BA/BS degree in a Human Resources/Training Field

Capabilities:
