Job summary

The Children’s Home of Reading is seeking a Training Specialist for the ORR program in Bethlehem and Doylestown, PA. This full-time role involves coordinating training logistics, tracking completions, and developing materials aligned with ORR and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, human services, adult learning, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and training coordination experience.
  • Two or more years of experience coordinating training or professional development programs, preferably in child welfare, behavioral health, or human services.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Must exhibit integrity and good moral character for working with children in a residential or foster care setting.
  • Must successfully complete ORR-required background investigations.
  • Must complete ORR-required training applicable to this position's role and level of program responsibility, as required and scheduled by ORR.
  • Must sign and comply with CHOR's Code of Conduct and related policies.
  • Must disclose any prior misconduct, including conduct off duty, on employment applications and in interviews.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates scheduling and logistics for all pre-service and continuing education training.

  • Develops and maintains training materials consistent with ORR and state licensing requirements.

  • Exercise independent judgment consistent with program policy, ORR requirements, and applicable law.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and respond promptly to program needs, including outside standard business hours when required by the role.

What You’ll Do

As a Training Specialist, you will:

Schedule
  • Full-Time / Exempt
  • This position is based across two work locations, Bethlehem and Doylestown. The employee will be required to report to and work from both offices as necessary and assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit at a meeting table or desk, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach, stoop, twist, climb steps, drive vehicle, and assist individuals as needed.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
