Position Summary
The Career Management Field Subject Matter Expert (CMF SME) serves as the lead coordinator with their respective training proponents in accordance with Army Regulation AR350-1, paragraph 3-3h. CMF SMEs directly report to the Army National Guard Institutional Training Branch (ARNG-TRI) and act as liaisons with training components, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), and the ARNG's The Army School System (TASS) to enhance synchronization and increase schoolhouse readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Government-provided Training Requirements Analysis System (TRAS) documents for compliance and ARNG-specific conditions.
- Analyze existing CMF Program of Instructions (POIs) for updates and compliance with TRADOC accreditation standards.
- Utilize Army Training Requirements and Resource System (ATRRS) to generate reports and recommend improvements across the Training Management Lifecycle (TMLC), including quota utilization, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Attend and report on the annual Training Coordination Council Workshop (TCCW), providing updates on CMF status and instructor readiness.
- Generate and submit annual reports such as TCCW outcomes, ARPRINT schedules, and TRAP/AOCC data analyses.
- Prepare and deliver briefings on CMF status during the Instructional Training Workshop (ITW) and other forums.
- Monitor and analyze ATRRS reports, including Class Start and End Date Reports, Potential Non-Conduct Class Reports, and ATRRS Inputs and Outputs Deficiency Reports, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Conduct quarterly analyses of TRADOC TASS Readiness Reports, including instructor maintenance and scheduling, and over/under scheduling reports.
- Support CMF TSP updates, TASS regulation analyses, and other regulatory compliance activities.
- Prepare various written reports and analyses supporting mobilization, transformation, and unit-reset training solutions.
- Travel approximately 15% as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- For all CMF SMEs except Aviation: Bachelor's degree (preferred), with 10 years of military experience or 5 years as an instructor/course manager at a military schoolhouse.
- For Aviation CMF SME (Anneville, PA, or Arlington, VA): Bachelor's degree or FAA A&P license, with at least 3 years of instructor or course manager experience.
- Ability to travel approximately 15%.
