Job summary

STIHL USA, a family-owned leader in outdoor power tools, seeks a Training Manager in the Salt Lake City area. You will lead live in-person and virtual training for STIHL commercial teams, dealers, and partners, delivering product knowledge, sales strategies, and customer engagement.

You’ll partner with instructional designers, coach field reps, and measure learner outcomes to elevate the quality of our training programs. Travel up to 25% is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Business, or related field.
• Professional training certifications (e.g., ATD Master Trainer, CPTM) preferred.
• 5+ years in a training, facilitation, or coaching role in commercial, retail, or technical industries.
• Experience training on products or systems with hands-on components.
• Familiarity with STIHL product categories or dealer networks.
• Proven success in delivering high-impact instruction to adult learners.
• Up to 25% travel by air.
• Strong facilitation and public speaking skills for technical and commercial audiences.
• Familiarity with LMS platforms and classroom technologies.
• Ability to adapt instructional techniques to diverse learner needs.
• Basic proficiency with training software (PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
• Highly relational, strong interpersonal and coaching abilities.
• Confident, energetic presence.

Responsibilities

Purpose

The Training Manager serves as a key instructional leader within STIHL’s Commercial Learning and Development team, responsible for delivering impactful training experiences that sharpen our teams’ capabilities and deepen their connection to the STIHL brand. This role focuses on live instruction, coaching, and facilitation across STIHL’s sales channels and product categories — ensuring that commercial employees, dealers, and partners gain not just product knowledge, but also the skills to represent our legacy of innovation and quality.
