Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):
- Establishes and coordinates an organization-wide approach to training and development.
- Defines and documents cost-effective training and development plans; manages changes to plans, as needed, due to priority and need changes.
- Ensures regulatory compliance of required Corporate, Local, Federal training (i.e., Hazmat, corrosives, etc.).
- Monitors, maintains, measures, and reports training courses taken via various tracking tools (e.g., Train Tracker, Training Portal).
- Develops curriculum to ensure continued success, safety, and management of staff.
- Develops and maintains a training catalog outlining all internal and external courses provided by the organization.
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops training and development staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; ensures staff conforms to organizational policies, procedures, and government regulations.
- Defines minimum skill proficiencies for critical positions and develops a process for evaluating incumbents to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Provides internal consulting to individuals and departments on training and development opportunities to enhance performance.
- Develops and implements programs, processes, and strategies to plan, evaluate, develop, and improve human and organizational resources.
- Prepares and monitors training budget.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; promotes and recognizes performance.

- Must pass all required background checks, clearances, and drug/alcohol tests as mandated by law or company policy.
Knowledge and Skills:
- This is a managerial position.
- Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills required.
- Excellent presentation skills required.
- Proficient in Windows-based programs.
- Knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, and performance consulting.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- Generally 3-6 years of related management experience preferred.
