Job summary

Gatik seeks a Head of Training to establish and lead the technical training infrastructure across sites, ensuring safety, competence, and efficiency. The role is onsite five days a week at our Santa Clara, CA office, guiding curricula for testing, deployment, and engineering support, and translating complex engineering material into practical training programs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical training or safety programs in AV/ robotics.
• Familiarity with autonomous commercial trucking operations and safety protocols.
• Ability to scale training across multiple sites and remote trainers.
• Experience with LMS and data integrity in training programs.
• Travel availability to all locations.

Responsibilities

• The Head of Training establishes, matures, and leads the technical training infrastructure across all operational sites. This role ensures that testing, field deployment, and engineering support teams operate at the highest standards of safety, technical competence, and operational efficiency.
• This role is onsite 5 days a week at our Santa Clara, CA office!
• Program Development & Maturity: Build, refine, and standardize training curricula for testing, deployment, and engineering support personnel, aligning content directly with safety benchmarks and operational milestones.
• Technical Translation & End-to-End Execution: Take complex technical engineering material and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), translate them into clear, accessible training materials, and execute the resulting training programs end-to-end.
• Critical Procedures & Processes: Take responsibility for ensuring the organization is thoroughly trained on all critical procedures and processes, embedding standard operating procedures (SOPs) deeply into daily workflows to maintain strict safety and operational integrity.
• Administrative Compliance & Traceability: Implement rigorous record-keeping frameworks to monitor, document, and audit all training metrics, ensuring total traceability and audit-readiness across the organization.
• Quality Assurance & Delivery Oversight: Audit and evaluate field trainers to ensure faithful, standardized execution of training content and rigorous testing methodologies across all facilities.
• Continuous Elevation & Real-Time Monitoring: Establish dynamic competency matrices to track team capabilities in real-time, delivering ongoing learning modules to continuously elevate technical skills alongside hardware/software updates.
• Retraining & Recertification: Develop, maintain, and execute structured retraining workflows to address skill gaps, post-incident remediation, and routine safety recertifications.

Requirements

• Autonomous Systems Experience: Demonstrated track record leading technical training or operational safety programs within the autonomous vehicle (AV), deployed robotics, or safety-critical technology sectors.
• Commercial Trucking Awareness: Strong technical familiarity or direct experience with autonomous commercial trucking operations, including operational logistics and related safety protocols, is highly preferred.
• Multi-Site Leadership: Proven ability to scale training operations, manage remote trainers, and standardize processes across geographically distributed operational hubs.
• Administrative Rigor: Experience utilizing Enterprise Learning Management Systems (LMS) and capability tracking platforms with strict data integrity requirements.
• Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel frequently to all operational, testing, and deployment locations.
• Salary Range - $180,000- $260,000
